The Breweries that Started It All

Austin & I had hung out for a couple of weeks when Kenny, our mutual friend wanted us to visit him in Arizona for Spring Break. We packed our bags & hopped on a plane— which was crazy because we barely knew each other. We strolled the streets of Tucson and decided to stop at Ten55 Brewing Company. I thought the place was really cute as we walked by, and looking at the outside of the brewery there is an outdoor seating area sectioned off with plants in wooden boxes by the entrance door to the right. The outdoor seating and inside seating is separated by a large glass garage door, which was open so the spring breeze came in and the smell of the hops went out. You can see a small portion of inside from the photo below. At this time, I did NOT drink beer—at all. I would drink hard cider & sip all of the boys' beers, scrunching my nose with disgust & we'd laugh.

We did a lot of sightseeing after our night in Tucson. We got in Kenny's car, rolled the windows down, & sang our hearts out until we reached Bisbee. This historic mining town has lots of breathtaking views. We wandered the streets, stopping in every open bar to grab a drink & dance a little. Up on Review Alley is Old Bisbee Brewing Company, which is probably one of my favorite breweries we've been to because they offer a drink so unique. "Salut!" is a crystal-clear beverage made with champagne yeast and Bulgarian elderberry flower. It's the drink recommended to those that don't like beer because it tastes like Prosecco or sweet Champagne. This brewery also offers food like bratwurst & chili. Yum!

This trip, like many others, was before we realized that breweries were our thing. We didn't document every beer we drank or what we munched on. I didn't start taking photos of our experiences until recently.
We look forward to watching The Beer Blog grow & flourish!
Cheers
